I understand that you should be paid for your work. So should Bari Weiss, Glenn Greenwald, Matt Taibbi, Andrew Sullivan, and dozens, if not hundreds, of other writers. But think of the reader. It would be expensive for me to pay $5/mo or $50/year for each of the several writers I like to read. I would love to see some sort of subscription deal at Substack that would let a reader pay, say, $15/mo or $150/year to read x articles from Substack authors. Kinda like the old days, when you could read a whole lot of good stuff by subscribing to two or three magazines.

Wishing you all the best. As a reader from the third world, however, I'm afraid I will no longer have access to your emails, every single one of which I've read from start to finish for the past couple of years, which makes me quite sad honestly. I guess it can't be helped unfortunately. Best of luck on your future endeavors.

I've just received a notification informing me that I've been gifted a one year subscription. I don't know if it was Micah or some kind stranger online, but either way, I'm grateful beyond words. Thank you so very much.

Hey Micah, is the founding member 300/year every year or just the first year?

I think it's every year (that's how Substack has it set up), but you can choose to do it for one year and revert to a normal subscription after that.

I'll have to join.
